We are coming up on summer in Arizona, and I usually keep the house sealed for the next 4 - 5 months because it is so hot. I likely don't get enough fresh air during this time. I decided to get this monitor to remind me to ventilate the house periodically. The unit is nice looking, and the display is easy to read. In addition to CO2, it also monitors temperature and humidity. I initially set it up at the end of a hot day after I had closed my windows all day, and the reading was about 670 ppm. The following morning I opened all of my windows, and the reading quickly dropped to 400 ppm (within 5 minutes). I was pleased to see that I could ventilate the house that fast. This unit will serve its purpose nicely. It does require a plug, and you can mount it on a wall or set it on a table or desk.
This gas detector works really well with a crystal clear display with a modern design. The installation is very easy and can be wall mounted or placed anywhere without it falling over. When the unit is started, it goes through a calibration cycle and the audible alarm won't go off depending on the type of gas you're trying to detect. It's almost half for any home especially if you have a furnace which I have our unit close to it in case there's carbon monoxide or if the oxygen starts to deplete for any reason
